A Nursing Program for Advancing Training in Health and Social Determinants
NPATHS is a 9-month comprehensive program grounded in community-based, participatory research designed to equip nurse scientists and allied healthcare professionals, with the tools to improve health outcomes for all patients through research-focused training and reflective practice.
What is NPATHS?
This research training program is designed to enhance understanding about important determinants of health and equip participants (i.e., scholars) to address differences in healthcare outcomes through research, advocacy, and professional development.
There are three core components to the NPATHS program:
In-person intensive to foster networking and collaborative learning
Online educational modules and monthly webinars
Mentored research experiences to support the development of a program deliverable aligned with each scholars career stage
We’re on a mission to…
Enhance knowledge and understanding of SDOH frameworks and concepts.
Strengthen capacity and skills to integrate SDOH concepts in the design, analysis, dissemination, and implementation of research.
Expand the volume and quality of nurse-led research focused on improving health outcomes for all through dissemination of research findings.
